2. My child tends to fall ill often. I understand I only get up to 2 make-up classes as per school policies,
but I think I will need more.
Yes our schools’ policies do state that you may have make-up classes only twice per term. However, there is always room for flexibility here with Taeseong Taekwondo SG.
If you can provide us a doctor’s note or medical certificate excusing your child from classes, we can certainly offer additional make-up classes you may require and schedule them when your child is feeling better. Do not hesitate to contact us should you require assistance; we are here to help.
3. I have a 2 year old and a 10 year old, are the fees the same?

*There will be a grading and assessment test on the 3rd month (May, August, November, February).
4. I have a 2-year-old, can he join your program yet?
We encourage children to start lessons at 3 years old mainly for the following reasons:
They are more receptive to listening to and understanding instructions
They are more independent and do not require to be accompanied by an adult
They are able to express themselves better
They are more ready to interact with the other students
Do drop us a trial request a few months prior to your child turning 3 and we can schedule a trial session for him/her.
5. Do you provide private and ad-hoc lessons?
Our lessons are held at different locations such as Novena, River Valley and Holland Village.
Conducted in a group setting, the Tiny Tots sessions are for 45mins while the Junior Kids, Kids, Teens/Adults, and Black Belt ones are for 60min.
Although the courses are on a term-to-term basis, you may join us in the middle of the term and we will prorate the fee accordingly.
We can only accommodate ad-hoc requests for extra classes on top of your term program.
Private lesson requests are subjected to Taeseong instructors’ approval and availability.
6. What happens if there is a disruption during the lesson?
Should your class be cancelled due to any disruptions:
We will arrange a replacement class, if the lesson was conducted for less than 15 minutes
Lessons conducted for 15 minutes or more will render a consideration for a full lesson replacement
7. How do I arrange for payment?
Payment can be made via online transfer, PayNow or cheque.
Kindly only arrange for payment after receiving the invoice.
8. Why doesn’t Taeseong Taekwondo have specific class for sparring?
At Taeseong Taekwondo, sparring classes are not compulsory, so purchase of full sparring equipments is not necessary.
However, upon reaching Green tip belt, students need to purchase basic sparring gear such as arm-guards, shin-guards, groin-guards, and headgear (highly recommended).
Sparring segments will be incorporated into our regular weekly classes on a fortnight (2 weeks once) basis.
As pattern trainings are essential for grading tests, we have shifted our focus towards a more intensive Poomsae regiment.
Our class curriculum are as follows:
Basic techniques for Poomsae (patterns)
Practice for Poomsae
The following week
Footwork for sparring
Practices for sparring kicks
Non-contact sparring for those below Yellow belt
Contact sparring for those at Green tip and above
Practice for poomsae (patterns)
9. Sparring Seminar
For Green-belt students, it is mandatory to attend at least 1 sparring seminar or take at least 1 private lesson with an instructor
(if they cannot make it for the seminar) before going for their grading tests.
For Blue Tip and above, students are encouraged to attend at least 1 sparring seminar or take at least 1 private lesson with an instructor (if they cannot make it for the seminar) before going for their grading tests.
The sparring seminars will be held before grading tests.
We will notify students of the sparring seminar dates when they are confirmed.
We believe this system will benefit students more as compared to making sparring classes compulsory for green belts and above.
Do reach out to us at email@example.com if you have any other queries not addressed here.
We will be happy to assist you to the best of our abilities ~
